3DOM is a project developed by the first course of ‘Instituto Nebrija’ of vocational training, virtual reality supports the project in order to train future FRV maintenance technicians, who are focused on finding solutions with renewable energy to replace fuels.The acronyms of this project, 3DOM, means Development, Operation and Maintenance, and the number three, because of three dimensions and virtual reality.
Technical visit to Cáceres
For the development of this project, it was necessary to obtain technical data, images, concrete measurements and the composition of the place visited to create a visual environment in virtual reality glasses. Therefore, a visit to a solar panel farm took place in Cáceres with the aim of replicate the installations as much accurate as possible. During the visit, the functionality of the hole installations was exposed, even though the weather stopped them from taking the necessary pictures and data as well.

Due that the project is designed to be used in virtual reality glasses, our classmates Martin and Jaime handled to set up and adjust the Oculus glasses, which are used to check the progress in the 3DOM project. In addition to the Oculus glasses, a Wacom digitizing tablet was also provided, so the Design Team could carry out the modeling and digitization tasks of the required materials along the project.
